313D Residential Air Conditioning Exam
This 313D is a pre-exam course. Based on the Government requirement of 4500 hours minimum experience the participant brings with him, this course will prepare the technician to write the Government exam.
The course includes but is not limited to topics like electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, heat pumps, psychometrics, sensible and latent heat. During the course there are also several quizzes that are given to the participants.
When this course is delivered in Toronto, there is a hands-on component to it; when delivered outside of Toronto it will be theory.
Basic Outline
$1200 + HST.---Cash Or Cheque
- Day 1-Morning- Intro to Mechanical side of AC—Pressures, superheat,
sub cooling, Latent heat, sensible heat.
Day 1-Afternoon- Electrical – capacitors, motors, compressors,
contactors—
- Day 2- Hands on Piece for day
- Day 3-Mechanical Troubleshooting – High head, suction, low head,
suction, pistons, TXV’s, coils
- Day 4- Hands on piece to Day 3-( recovery, charging , commissioning)
- Day 5- Brazing and component replacement, leak detecting, overview
Start Heat Pumps
- Day 6- Finish Heat Pumps & Final quiz and Review.
(Participant to bring basic hand tools, multi meter, safety shoes,
glasses and gloves)
